NOW ONLINE! “A Soulful Introduction to Mindfulness” 6-Week Class Beginning Saturday, March 28th

I hope that you are safe and well as we journey through the unknown of this pandemic. At this time of uncertainty and unpredictability, I am drawing upon mindfulness myself and believe strongly that it is an important skill for healing, peace, clarity, resilience, and wellness that we can bring to our individual and interconnected lives. Many people are challenged to manage waves of fear and anxiety, increasing loneliness and isolation, as well as other experiences such as sadness, anger, relationship tensions, and boredom. Meditation is a valuable resource as we are “sheltering at home” on lockdown for our collective health and safety. I encourage you to add mindfulness to your repertoire of skills to support you not only during this time, but to be an ongoing resource for optimal well-being, transformative growth, and manifesting your highest and best self.
In the context of public health recommendations, I postponed the planned “Soulful Introduction to Mindfulness” class series (which was to start last Sunday March 15th in Los Angeles) with the hopes that an in-person option would be possible soon. However, it has become clear that offering the class online is a better alternative that can begin sooner. Thus, I have restructured the class to be more online-friendly and will be starting a 6-session class series beginning THIS SATURDAY MARCH 28th at 9:30am PST with a “pay-what-you-can” structure (including free participation). DETAILS BELOW. Please email me if you would like to participate (
Please take good care of yourself and I hope you are able to join the class. In the meantime, here is a link to my recent website post with a song meditation resource:
In closing...May you find your calm center, your soul’s refuge. May you be well in body, mind, heart, and soul. May you be safe and protected.

With Peace, Love, and Soulfulness,
Dr. Shelly Harrell

An Intensive 6-Week ONLINE Class Series

March 28th, April 4th, April 11th, April 18th, April 25th, and May 2nd

This 6-session course is an introduction to mindfulness meditation that highlights its role for finding peace in troubled times. Mindfulness helps us move “from stressed out to energized within”. It is a strategy not only for self-care, but also for “soul-care”. Core teachings and strategies will be presented with emphasis on mindfulness as an inner refuge and path to mental and emotional liberation. Particular attention is given to the relevance of mindfulness for People of Color and oppression-related experience. Practicing mindfulness regularly can help us be more resilient, live better in our daily lives, as well as provide a grounding for the manifestation of our highest aspirations and purpose, both personally and collectively.
